Celtic Crossroads

Farm Fresh & Chemical Free for You!

This is Norphan,

my barn cat.

Bud, is my dwarf Great Pyrenees.  He’s only 3 times larger than the puppy he is here—so he’ll always seem like a puppy to us.

About Us

My husband and I have lived on Celtic Crossroads since 2003.  The Walla Walla Valley is in a banana belt of the State where things grow within a long growing season.  We get maybe a month of snow during the winter as we live in the lower foothills of the Blue Mountains, but we don’t have to live in the snow & all the problems.  We are also in what is known as the Pacific Northwest’s “Napa Valley” (based on a newspaper article in the Los Angeles Times a few years ago) with over 150 wineries in the area, along with a large variety of tasting rooms.  During the warm weather, there are farmers markets, festivities most weekends, & lots of things to do if you happen to visit here.  Along with the wine tastings & festivities, you will find local produce, swine, goats, sheep, alpacas, yaks, llamas, cattle, & local yarn to knit, fiber to spin, & shops.  This area is growing so fast with a revamping of Highway 12 growing from a 2-lane to a 4-lane highway to accommodate the increase in tourism, along with new stores, new restaurants, & new tasting rooms increasing as well.   Knitochet is still here (http://www.knitochet.com), but changed locations.

Since we’ve been here, we’re evolving into a chemical free farm using natural plant & pest control as much as possible.  I even use natural methods of pest control on my animals and that seems to work fine with fleas, mites, lice, & ticks being very low or none at all.  I’ve gone from a flock of 22 Icelandic, Finn, & mixed breed sheep down to two Icelandic ewes, but I’ll be keeping my four male alpacas—a white Suri and 3 Huacayas in white, cinnamon & rose gray.  Bud is my dwarf Great Pyrenees (does that make him a diminutive Pyrenees?) who is now almost 5 years old.  He is deaf & is small, but has a heart as big as a full grown Pyrenees & I love him to pieces.  Our barn cat, Norphan, has been with us since Bud was a puppy, so you could say they grew up together.  They nip & claw each other.  At times, they sleep together—they’re good pals.

I also teach classes here: Spinning, knitting, crocheting, loom knitting, & embroidery.  Call for times for dates & times or more information.

If you’d like to visit Celtic Crossroads, please call ahead for an appointment.  See you soon!  :)

These two ewe lambs are Wish & Spot, born of Bonnet, a registered Icelandic sheep from the LaVoi farm in N. WA State.  Wish & Spot are the only Icelandic sheep that remain at

Celtic Crossroads.
